WIP Wednesday {22}

Another Wednesday already? With a house full of family visiting this weekend most of my quilting was in my head! Lot's of planning and block prep. Oh - and seam ripping.
Finished this week:
do.good stitches blocks! They are waiting to be mailed now. This will be an interesting quilt to see come together because the white blocks will form patterns.

In progress:
Sew Sweetness Sew along- This was where I did all my seam ripping. The lining I added made the gathers way too full and was totally not flattering on me. I'm am pear shaped and this made me a super-pear! Plus all that fabric made the dress really heavy. I had to rip the zipper, the entire side and then the skirt. This time I'm going with the tunic like Kim made here (i love this!). I reduced the amount of gathers and got rid of the lining. I already have a little sweater to match my dress, let's just hope the tunic works for my hips!

Supernova Quilt along - I did a lot of tweaking on this and finally started sewing the blocks together. I think I may be taking this one to the PMQG sewing day on Saturday to finish. Here's one of the blocks I changed up a bit.

Postage Stamp quilt - need to get this basted for sewing day also. And I hope to get my binding all cut and ready.
Pretty {little} pouch swap - I got my partner and I think I've picked out my pouch design. I'm going to make a trial to see how it goes together for me.
(3x6) bee - I may have done a little too much searching for this one. I've got too many block ideas and I'm having a hard time narrowing it down to just one! I may just do the Sunrise Star that I did a tutorial on.
PMQG Charm Pack Challenge  -  Our challenge is to use this charm pack of Robert Kaufmann Brights and all we can add are prints. Again, I think I know what I want to do here, just need to execute it.

PMQG Pillow Swap  - This is my pile of fabrics for my pillow. I'll show the pillow after we do the swap. It's almost finished. I need to square it up a bit and put a back on it and I should be ready to go.

New this week:
Quilt for my mom. I'm super excited about this one. The fabrics have been ordered and are on their way to me! I'll tell you all about it when they arrive. So nice to have someone write you a check to order fabric. ;)

Pending:
curtains
Amy Butler bag
boy burp cloths

Total WIP's this week: 11

On a separate but quilting related note, my sweet hubby agreed to get me EQ7 for Mother's Day (!!). Anyone out there running it on a Mac? Just curious how to make it work. I've heard something about bootcamp? I'd love if you could fill me in. I know once I get my hands on this software, I'll want it to work.

Awesome list! Wow :) I'm sorry to hear the Jamie dress didn't work out, but I do love how that tunic looks, can't wait to see how yours turns out. Your Supernova block looks super fab, too, I really like it a lot!

Hi Becky!
I'm going to make a tunic, too - wasn't Kim's just so cute! Hopefully I'll get it finished today and get pictures to the flickr group.
Can't wait to see yours!

In order to run EQ7 on a Mac, you'll need to have a copy of Windows (XP or 7 are probably best). Then you need to install Windows on your Mac either using Bootcamp (which means that when you want to switch to Windows, you have to restart the computer, and then restart again when you want to switch back to the Mac system) OR you can run Windows as a "virtual" machine. You get a program such as Parallels (you have to buy this) or VirtualBox (FREE http://www.virtualbox.org/). Then you can install Windows on the virtual machine and run that inside of the Mac OS. If that makes no sense at all, you can ask me more about it on Saturday.

The Supernova blocks look great!! I am sorry about the dress! If it weren't for seam rippers, though - I would never finish any project! ;)

Thanks for the info on eq - my oh gave me a voucher for this for my birthday, but I haven't bough it yet. I didn't realize using on the Mac would have been tricky!

That sucks that you had to do so much ripping on your dress, but hopefully you'll be much happier after re-working it.

That Supernova block is so bright & cheery, can't wait to see the rest of it!

I think the tunic idea sounds awesome! I know seam ripping sucks, but it sounds like it will be 100% worth it in the end. I'm really hoping I like the outcome of this dress (fingers crossed!) Your supernova block looks awesome! Seeing all these quilts come together has me insipired to start one of my own!!
