A beachy bag

I love Lazy Girl Bags and her Summer Tote has been on my to-do list for quite a while. Once I saw Going Coastal, I knew I wanted to use that fabric for this bag. I ordered some and it has sat in my cabinet for several months. I finally got the chance to pull out this project and it came together nice and quickly!

As with all the Lazy Girl bags I've done, the patterns are clear and easy to follow. I messed up on the first step a little but was able to make it work anyway. (and it was total baby brain that made me do it) When you cut the notches for connecting the top and bottom of the bag I messed up my measurements for the top. But as long as you make them all the same, they will line up okay when you connect the front and back of the bag.

I used my multicolor zipper on this and I love what it adds. And if you look at the edges where the tab sticks out you can see where I "messed up". The side edges of the bag shouldn't be that much wider than the tab, but it still works and you can't tell anything is wrong.

The inside has one pocket on each side. And how cute is the crab fabric?  I hate to say it, but I may be using this one instead of my diaper bag. It's quite a bit smaller so we'll see if I can stuff everything in it. But I love that it zips and the fabrics make me laugh.

It may be January, but I'm ready for the beach!!

Love the bag! I've been looking for a diaper bag pattern and had actually been looking at this one. Does it make a good diaper bag?

Eee! Cutest ever!! I have some of this fabric, but it's reserved for a quilt for my dad. Now I might have to buy some more and give this a shot ... : )
