WIP Wednesday {34}

I know I've been really sporadic with these WIP Wednesday posts, but I'm actually taking a different approach to my sewing lately. I think with the few months I took off from sewing I feel like I really want to get some of my deadline stuff done. So I've been focusing on one project at a time rather than just sewing what I feel like.

So last night was our PMQG meeting. I wish I had brought my camera. Jessica Levitt is one of our members and she brought the projects from her new book, Modern Mix for show and tell. The projects in this book are really fantastic, but you'll have to check out her blog to see them since I have no pictures!

We also had a pincushion swap. We could make any kind of pincushion we liked. I decided to make a pincushion from Last Minute Patchwork + Quilted Gifts. What I loved about this pincushion is that I was able to use all scraps for it. It's mostly a Neptune and Prince Charming pincushion. And I added a little bling in the center to cover where all the points meet.

Here's the awesome pincushion I received. I was super psyched to get a Neptune pincushion!

The other deadline project I've been working on is picking out the next block for the October do.Good Stitches quilt. I'll show that one once I've posted it for the group. I can't believe October is so close!

I also had time to squeeze in an order for commissioned burp cloths for a friend.

And what I've been making most progress on is my mothers king size Aviary Birdbath quilt. I've feel like I've been working on this one forever. But I got another bunch of blocks done this week.

I've been doing this one print at a time. I have one print left - which means only 12 blocks! Here's my pile of blocks so far without the ones on the wall. It's about 2.25" high!

Then comes the daunting task of trying to lay this out! I think I'm going to have to move some furniture around just to have room to lay out all these blocks.

Waiting for my attention:
Curtains for sewing room, kitchen, great room and bedroom (these WILL be done before the baby comes)
Teacher gifts for christmas
beach bag for my sister

Lee is taking a break from her WIP link up this week. Stop by and wish her well in her fabric design efforts if you have a moment!

What an adorable pin cushion! I am borderline obsessed with Urban Zoologie and felt compelled to include the whales on a quilt I'm making for my friend's baby even though I included them on the last quilt I made.

Congrats on winning the Amy Butler Sew Along on Sew Sweetness! Your weekender bag is super awesome. I voted for you!

I love that book! I actually was planning on making the exact same pincushion from it, but yours probably turned out much nicer than mine would have been.

Also, you forgot to mention that you got elected to be Vice President of the guild (at least until the little one decides to enter the world)! Congratulations, I look forward to working with you!

Seeing those burp cloths reminds me that I need to get started making some myself! Everything looks great Becky and congrats on your win over at Sew Sweetness, you totally deserved it!

Looks like your method is working - you've been really productive! I feel bad, I had forgotten about your mom's quilt, I can't believe you're so close to having all those blocks done! Good luck with the last few!
