If you've been reading my blog for a while, you know I've complained about the lack of a modern LQS nearby. There are 2 nice ones closer and within the city, but with a toddler, taking an hour trip to go to a fabric store is not really possible.
I was really excited when I went to Sew Smart Fabric's website and found out they are under new management! I went in yesterday and got to talk to the new owner, Kathleen. She is super nice and has some great plans for the place. She's already got some modern samples up on the walls and is reorganizing the place. They are going to be offering some great classes in the fall and updating the fabrics.
So if you live near Doylestown, stop by and give them some support! They are clearing out the old inventory so if you know someone who likes traditional fabrics let them know there are deals to be had. The new stuff is coming in and they hope to have a grand re-opening event in September so keep your eye out!

yay! i am so happy for you! having a good lqs is so nice. i have two. i feel very lucky!
are you still feeling sick?
That is SO EXCITING! I found everyone in there to be kinda snotty before, which is why I stopped going there. I'll definitely need to visit in September to check out the new stuff!
I live in Doylestown! yay! I stopped going in, too, because of the "snotty attitude" that was encountered more often than not. Can not wait for some fresh fabrics and classes!
Thank you for this news! I am SEW excited! I can't wait to make the trip! I'm going to check out the classes too. o:)
My Dad lives up that way, next time I'm in the area i will have to check that store out.
Thank you for the heads up! I never encounterd an attitude of any sort when I went there in the past, but just never found enough fabric that I liked to justify the trip. We really don't have a ton of choices in this general area, so it's great to hear that there will be a new place to enable my fabric obsession.
Great news~! I wish my quilt shop was closer- (The Little Shop) but I'm thankful for having the shop only 30 mins from my house! I just found a huge quilt store right near my new job- and wow- the fabric was so 'blegh'... i left with a few over-priced notions and no fabric. :-(
Thanks for the news! I live in Ambler, but I take the train a lot anyways, and I'd like to see them do well!
They look like they are only a 5 minute walk or so from the train station, that sounds good to me :)
I'm really excited for the grand re-opening. My inlaws live right outside of Doylestown so I'll definitely be checking it out when I visit them.
