Another Charity Quilt finish

This quilt has actually been finished for a few months. It's been sitting waiting for me to put the binding on it!! So I decided that it's going to go to charity just like my last quilt.

If you haven't joined and donated somethin for the Quilts for Kids 2015 effort you should consider it. You have till the end of the month and she's doing a bunch of great giveaways as well. Not to mention, it's all for a good cause.

This quilt was packed with the last one and sent to Quilts for Kids. I'm hoping it will appeal to an older child who may not like all the novelty fabrics typically found in kids quilts.

The "solid" fabrics in this one are actually shot cottons which are notoriously hard to photograph. Let me just say, they are fabulous in person. And the "background" is a chambray.

This quilt was made during the Mod Olives quilt along at Sew Kind of Wonderful. If you haven't seen her Quick Curve Ruler, I definitely recommend it. I've made several of her quilts and they are always stunning and easy to do! She's got lots of great you tube videos if you are a visual learner like me.

I long-armed this quilt at my friend's house the same time I did this quilt back in July.  I will say, it had a couple of bulky seams that needed me to be careful. But going slow takes care of that.

Here's a close up of my machine binding. I used the edge stitch foot and it helped me keep the line steady and perfect!

The back is a piecing of stash fabrics and my label as usual!

A special wedding gift!

I just finished and photographed my Metro Lattice quilt from Sew Kind of Wonderful. This quilt is going to be a wedding quilt for my nephew who is getting married next weekend.

They are in their early 20's and so I wanted to find something with a cooler vibe for them. I thought this was appropriate since it is a new twist on the Double Wedding Ring.

I found out that the bride's favorite color is purple so I went with my favorite Joel Dewberry line so far, Bungalow. Mixed it with a kona purple (I don't remember which one!) and a kona snow and voila!!

My feet as I try to get high enough to take the photo!!
My lovely friend Denise had me over to her place to long arm this quilt. I'm so addicted to long arming, I love how fast it is and the great results. Here are some shots of the quilting I chose. I love the secondary pattern that looks like a heart.

I have to say, I love how this pattern came together. This is my second quilt with the Quick Curve Ruler and I love the detail they put into their pattern writing. Everything is clear and easy to follow and leads to such impressive results (in my option).

I went with the blue color on the front for the backing. I found this print from ModKid at Joann's and I loved it so much I did the entire back in it with my label pieced within.

And the binding is one of my favorite prints from Bungalow. Cut on the bias it makes a really fun binding.

I hope the newlyweds love it as much as I do! I'm having a hard time parting with it!

Soliciting input....

I could use your help with my QAL and I've created another little poll at the end of this post. Of course I had to start playing with my blocks and now I can't decide how I should finalize the layout. I even recruited my little helper to assist me with the layouts!

Actually, the problem started when I fell in love with 5 layout colors rather than the 4 the pattern calls for. The original pattern is for 4 'blocks' of color such as this "Layout 1":
Layout 1

You can see the odd block on the right. I will have 4 extra blocks of that color if I go with this one. But I plan to use those on the back so no biggie if this is your favorite. It would probably be a better wall hanging at this size.  Another idea:

Layout 2
Then I thought, why not just lay them all out in rows? Here's what that looks like:

Layout 3
Or how about if I stagger those? (sorry this is out of focus, it looked okay in the camera).

Layout 4
Which layout do you prefer?
