A Heart Quilt

This sweet little heart quilt is going to my niece in FL. She's already got these colors in her room since I made her baby quilt in Neptune. So I pulled out the Tula Pink and  made this one to match but be a bit bigger!

This quilt is a Tula Pink Design from the book Sew Red It's so cleverly designed and comes together very fast!

You wind up with a lot of HST leftovers so I put them into the backing with my label.

The one note I'd put on this pattern is just to be careful with how you cut your prints. my directional prints all wound up sideways. It's no big deal, but something to be careful about if that will drive you crazy!

Binding is the teardrop fabric.

Quilting is hard to see, but I practiced my Angela Walters skills on this one! Swirls in the hearts and loops in the zigzags with straight lines on the borders.

My daughter fell in love with this one so you may be seeing more of these in the future!

Quilt stats:
Quilt name:Hearts for Mikaela
Fabrics: Tula Pink Neptune, Prince Charming, Saltwater
Finished size: 60"x 54"
Finished: 8/20/13

I swore I would make a boy quilt next but then I saw this! I have got to make this next! The Tula works perfectly with it, well done!

I just ordered the book and can't wait to make this quilt! Do you know what kind of yardage I need of the fabrics? Would fat quarters work? I want to order my fabric right away since I can't wait! :)

Thanks!
Tami
