A little celebratory giveaway

The other day I realized I missed my blogaversary at the beginning of this month. It's been one year for my little blog and I still can't believe I actually have people who come and read what I have to say! I appreciate all of you who stop in to read my ramblings so I thought I'd do a little giveaway to show my appreciation.

At the same time, Monday is my big ultrasound where I found out the gender of my baby (provided they cooperate!). So in honor of that I'm giving away two fat quarter stacks.

A pink one:

And a blue one:

Here's what you do:

Leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite fabric line right now is for a boy or girl quilt (a little market research for my own selfish purposes). You do need to be or become a follower (sorry, it's a follower appreciation giveaway!). And if you want, you can guess if I'm having a boy or girl.

One entry per person and I will pick two winners. If you are a no-reply blogger, please make sure I have a way to reach you.

I'll be closing the giveaway on Monday at 2pm, eastern time and I'll announce the winners shortly after.

  5. Oh I think Little Apples would be sweet for a little girls quilt. I also love Anne Kelle's prints, some of those would be sweet for a baby boy.

My vote is boy but I was wrong in guessing the gender with both mine, which were both surprises 'til they arrived into this world :)

  6. I'm a follower and I am also putting in a vote for Children at Play range! Love it!

  10. Thank you for the giveaway. Right now I am loving Children at Play by Sarah Jane and Little Apples by Aneela Hoey. I also found this fabulous Japanese Lego fabric by Kokka called Hello my Friend that is so cute. I'm really looking forward to the release of Cutebots this fall. There's never enough fabric for little boy projects!

  11. I think Terrain would make a beautiful modern quilt for a little girl!

I follow. thank you for a lovely giveaway. =)

  12. I have not really explored fabric to make baby quilts, although I should since I have 5 friends who are having babies soon. I love Sew Cherry and that would make a cute girl quilt with all the sweet gingham.
Twirl has some cutesy prints in it, not my style, but fun colors anyway. And Pezzy Print is fun too.
And I am guessing you have a boy. :)

  13. Heirloom for a girl...!
I just bought Zoe Pearn's Alphabet Soup to make a quilt for my nephew...'boy' fabrics are trickier to find for sure!

  19. I'm not going to guess if it is boy or girl, because I don't have a clue or even a guess! Favorite fabric lines - girl would have to be Sarah Jane at play and boy would have to be Jen Ski Aldo to Zippy, I love the panel associated with this line!

I sure hope baby cooperates! Good luck!

  22. I guess boy. I guess that I should change my fabric choice now...since it's pink...
But I like fancy promenade. http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?sid=64079231050386407&Store_id=499&page_id=23&Item_ID=54364&Parent_Ids=

  24. I guess girl and for a girl quilt I'm LOVING Ruby :) For a boy I'd definitely use the boy colorway(s) of Children at Play - such a great line! Thanks for the giveaway and look forward to your news :D

  25. So exciting ~ all the best with your ultrasound!

I have a few favourite boy lines, and I am pretty picky about nothing flowery in them, because after 3 girls I had enough girly prints in my stash! Riley Blake releases some great boy lines ~ All Star & All Star 2, and they have about 6 more boy lines on their coming soon page. I also like Animal Party by Amy Schimler.
For girls, the choices are pretty endless. I would pick which colours you want, and then find a line from there.

And I follow :) Congrats on your blogaversary!

  26. love that girl stack! i think that a great boy quilt could be made from the 1001 peeps line from lizzy house- the blues and greens are perfect, and the graphics would be fun to look at for a baby!

  27. Love the girl stack, and I am loving the Children at Play line!

  31. Right now I'm really loving Fairy Tale Friends by American Jane. It would be perfect for a boy or girl. Hideaway by Lauren and Jessi Jung is also pretty fabulous.

  35. How sweet! I didn't realize you'd only been blogging for a year! Congrats on the anniversary, and thanks for sharing some fabrics. :) Hmm, so I love Little Apples, and I really love It's a Hoot, which I think is pretty gender-neutral. And I think Pooches and Pickups is pretty cute as well.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm going to guess Boy because you put it second, like you didn't want it to be obvious, lol. Armchair psychology.

My fave line right now for a little girls quote is Sophie - my daughter picked it out online, but I haven't seen it in person yet. I love the bright color combos.

  37. Congratulations - doublely - for the anniversary of the blog and the new baby, especially the new baby! I'm making my 8th grandchild's baby quilt and I'm using Lollipop, Sandy Gervais, by Moda. Yep, it's pretty un-gender cuz they're waiting for the surprise. So...I did want the quilt done before the baby is 2 so that collection was my choice. Of course, I love it.
Girl????? But, for goodness sakes, all babies are wonderful.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I don't really use kids fabric, I did order some Moda fabric to make my youngest daughter a quilt for Christmas, but it is Fresh Flowers by Deb Strain. Its bright nice colors and not to babyish to grow with her.

If you'd like to see the beginnings of the quilt, here the link.

  46. I guess....GIRL! And I am definitely enjoying all the projects I'm seeing made with LouLouThi!

  47. My daughter wanted the sex of her first baby to be a surprise, so we chose Kate Spain's Fandango for the nursery -- it was non gender specific, and echoed her husband's Mexican heritage. Right now I am doing a flannel quilt for my newest grand baby, a little boy due in Decemeber, from Valori Wells' Urban Flannel. I love her bold colors and funky prints. This quilt is the jungle animals print in the blue-green color way, with big polka dots on the back.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm going to guess girl. I love the 1001 Peeps by Lizzy House. I'm making a girl and a boy quilt for friends having babies at the Across the Sea QAL.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm making a quilt for my sister's baby boy to be and I'm using Alexander Henry Teeny Tiny Zoo in the brown colourway. I knew from the start I was going to make it into a baby quilt. I love the pink colourway - anything houndstooth is awesome!
    Thanks for the giveaway.

  52. I was admiring the Sweetwater Pure line at a quilt show today (although being the UK, it's probably long gone from your shops) and I was thinking it would make a lovely baby quilt that could be grown up with (if that makes sense!)

    I'll vote boy.

  53. I like Circa 1934 for a boy but think you are having a girl!

    ReplyDelete

  59. Little Apples by Aneela Hoey. She is so whimsical with her designs and her colour palette is amazing.
    My crystal ball says....Girl!

  62. I'd pick Alphabet Soup by My Mind's Eye if i were to make a quilt for a child. I believe it would suit any little one regardless of their gender and at the same time it would make a lively and cozy quilt that anyone (including myself) would cherish.
Thanks for the lovely giveaway and congrats on your blogiversary. As for guessing, I'm terrible at it so I'll just wait and see if you share this with us ;)

  69. Quilting Treasures have some lovely Golden Books panel prints that are so cute and a little bit kitch at the same time. Saggy Baggy Elephant and Poky Little Puppy are some of the titles that appealed to me and would make great themed quilts. They could be jazzed with some contemporary co-rdinating prints.

  70. I love the Prince Charming by Tula Pink! I will guess boy, I love that blue set of fabric! Thank you so much!

  73. Oh exciting - bet you can't wait until monday :) I guess boy, because everyone I've heard about seems to be having them these days!! I find boys fabrics difficult but I did make a Dr Seuss quilt for my little nephew recently. I'm working on quilts for my little nieces now with Heirloom (the jewel-toned colors are so great!) and Sweetwater's Sunkissed collection (a bit more cute and baby-ish than the bright Heirloom, so depends what look you're going for).
